New Delhi: Nearly 40 percent of Indian children suffer from zinc deficiency, a reason behind the whopping malnutrition in India, a top government official said on Tuesday.

INDIA: IIM Lucknow to offer certificate programmes

Rural women`s education programme gets Rs.2.1 bn
New Delhi: An amount of Rs.2.1 billion was Friday approved by the cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA) for expanding the Mahila Samkhya programme (MSP) during 2007-12 for the educational empowerment of rural women. A joint initiative of the Britain-based Department for International Development (DIFD) and the Indian government, the MSP was launched in 1989 to implement the goals of the National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 to empower rural women, particularly from the socially and economically marginalised groups.

13 first year MBBS students in dock
Pune, April 02 First year MBBS students are in for a rude shock. Thirteen students who gained admission from the CBSE quota to B J Medical College are no longer “eligible” to appear for examinations in May. The students have decided to file a writ petition in the Delhi High Court against the Medical Council of India (MCI).

IIM-B introduces Research Aptitude Test (RAT) for its Fellowship Program

INDIA: 400 students register for AIEEE model tests
CHENNAI: About 400 students have registered for the online AIEEE model test series offered by AIMS Education in association with The Hindu EducationPlus. The series comprising 10 trim tests and two full model exams will commence on Tuesday and conclude on April 25 and 26.
